What is JetBlue cancellation policy?

JetBlue has improved and implemented more customer-friendly changes to its cancellation rules. All reservations can now be cancelled without incurring a termination fee.

According to JetBlue’s current cancellation policy:

• There is no cancellation fee for Blue, Blue Extra, Blue Plus and Mint tickets if you cancel your reservation before departure.
• A verified same-day switch is also available for USD 75 per traveller, although Mosaic customers and Blue Extra prices are exempt from this charge.
• For flights inside North America, the Caribbean, and Central America, there will be cancellation costs of USD 100 per passenger.
• For all other trips, the cost per passenger is USD 200.
• A confirmed swap for the same day is also available for USD 75 per passenger.

Note:

• For passengers cancelling via phone, a non-refundable penalty of USD 25 will be applied. This price will be tacked on top of any necessary cancellation fees (if any). But if you withdraw via chat or online at JetBlue.com, you can prevent this cost.
• If you change your mind about a non-refundable fare, JetBlue will hold the value of your fare as a JetBlue Travel Credit for a future flight. You can obtain the information through their Travel Bank account.
• Contact the third party directly if you made your reservation through one.

JetBlue Cancellations—Flight Tickets Paid with Cash or Points

The following describes JetBlue’s cancellation policy for tickets bought with cash or points:

JetBlue 24-Hour Cancellation Policy

You may terminate your flight between 24 hours of purchasing without incurring cancellation fees if you purchased your flight at a minimum of 7 days prior to the departure date of your journey. JetBlue has a 24-hour cancellation policy that applies to all ticket categories, including non-refundable tickets, but not to reservations for JetBlue Vacations.

JetBlue Policy for Non-Refundable Tickets

If you return a non-refundable JetBlue reservation,  will store your payment in a travel credit account for subsequent use.

If you do not cancel your non-refundable travel segment, even before departure, you will lose all your money, including option fees.

JetBlue Flight Cancellation Policy for Refundable Tickets

Although more expensive, refundable tickets offer greater flexibility. According to JetBlue’s cancellation policy, you can withdraw any refundable ticket and obtain a complete refund to the original method of payment as opposed to getting a travel credit for other tickets.

You will receive a JetBlue Travel Credit for the price you paid if you don’t withdraw a refundable trip section ahead of time.

JetBlue Award Ticket Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel a previously booked flight, the following requirements must be met in order for TrueBlue points to be returned to your account:

• Only untraveled flight segments are cancellable.
• A roundtrip cannot be cancelled on any individual leg.

JetBlue Mosaic Cancellation Policy

Subject to the cancellation policy for JetBlue Elite status members, Mosaic status holders, excluding Blue Mosaic, are entitled to pre-departure cancellation free of charge, even if non-refundable.. In addition, either completing 30 flight sections and accruing 12,000 flight credits within a calendar year or racking up 15,000 flight points within the same period will award you Mosaic status.

JetBlue Cancellation Policy for Government or Military Personnel

According to JetBlue’s cancellation policy, government workers and military people who are flying on discounted rates can terminate their flights and get a complete refund. However, if they don’t show up for the flight.

JetBlue Flight Cancellation Policy Due to Death

A complete refund of the departed passenger’s and their accompanying companion’s tickets is possible under JetBlue’s cancellation policy in the event of a ticketed passenger’s death (s). Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of flight cancellation and accompanied by a copy of the deceased’s death certificate.. Suppose a traveller presents a copy of the death certificate, obituary, or funeral programme. In that case, JetBlue may eliminate the cancellation fee for cancellations brought on by the passing of an immediate family member of the ticketed passenger. Call JetBlue for assistance. 

A passenger’s spouse, kid, grandchild, great-grandchild, brother, or sister are all considered immediate family members.

Cancellation Policy Due to Illness of JetBlue

According to JetBlue’s cancellation policy, a traveller cannot reschedule a non-refundable flight because of the illness of a member of the family. However, according to the relevant change charge, the passenger may postpone the departure date by changing the reservation into an unrestricted category ticket for travel at a later date. However, it is free to revoke refundable tickets before a flight.

JetBlue Flight Cancellation Policy For Cancelled Flights

There are several options available to you if JetBlue cancels your flight for whatever reason:

• Gain access to a JetBlue Travel Bank Credit.
• Catch the next flight without paying any further fees.
• If you are unable to rebook your flight within two hours, you will be given a full refund.

The following explains how JetBlue handles cancellations and delays brought on by anomalies:

• You are eligible for the following reimbursement in the form of a voucher for future trips on JetBlue if JetBlue cancels your trip due to a preventable irregularity and no other means of transportation are available within one hour:
  • If the flight is canceled less than 4 hours before departure, the fee is $50.
  • If the flight is delayed from the scheduled departure time, the fee is $100.
