Flights Assistance is an independent, English-language guide to air passenger rights. We explain, in plain language, what you can do when a flight is delayed or cancelled, when your bag goes missing, or when someone tries to sell you "airline help" that isn't.
What we cover
- Passenger rights – the EU and UK compensation rules, US refund rules, and the international treaty that governs lost and damaged baggage.
- Delays and cancellations – what to do at the airport, how to choose between a refund and a new flight, and how to claim without paying a middleman.
- Baggage – reporting, deadlines and what you can claim.
- Travel scams – fake helplines, lookalike booking sites and social media "agents", and how to reach the real airline.
How we research
Our guides are written and checked by a small independent editorial team. We work from primary sources wherever we can: the text of the regulations themselves, guidance published by the European Commission, the UK Civil Aviation Authority, the US Department of Transportation and other official bodies, and airlines' own published policies.
Every guide lists its sources and shows the date we last checked it. Passenger rules and airline policies change, sometimes quietly, so we revisit our guides regularly. If you spot a mistake or an outdated rule, please tell us – we correct errors and update the "last checked" date when we do.
Our guides are general information, not legal advice. For a specific dispute, the official complaint routes we describe (airline, enforcement bodies, dispute resolution schemes) are free to use.
What we are not
To be completely clear:
- We are not an airline and not affiliated with any airline.
- We are not a travel agency. We don't sell tickets or take bookings.
- We are not a claims company. We don't file claims on your behalf or take a share of compensation.
- We have no phone support and don't run any helpline.
- We can't change, cancel or check your booking. For that, please use the airline's official website or app, or the contact details in your booking confirmation.
This domain's past
Between 2022 and 2025 this domain was used by an unrelated operator to publish a phone number presented as airline booking and cancellation help. We acquired the expired domain in October 2026 and have no connection with that site or number.
